The
Elevator EP is Orb-influenced. The 'A' side features a sample of Marlene
Dietrich singing 'Where Have All the Flowers Gone' at the end of a 16
minute dub. The flip features two shorter and clubbier mixes. The cover
photograph was taken by Matthew Andrews. 1,000 copies of the EP were made
in purple vinyl.

The
303 came from an auction in Birmingham; the influence from Hardfloor.
Features a long minimalist acid version of an obscure Prince Far-I dub
on the 'A' side and two trance mixes on the flip, Reviews were less positive
than they had been for 'Elevator', but there was good feedback from clubs.

Debut
LP named after Helix Road in Brixton. The version of Millenium 303 on
the album is an alternative one to the EP release: it features a speech
by Jerry Rubin. 'Shape of Life' was remixed by Spiralhead in a techno
stylee. The rest of the album is fairly ambient. The sleeve was designed
by Bruno Martelli.

Billy
Whizz (single)
Vinyl/CD released 1995 Original mix(RA)/Byrne n Belton mix CD features two mixes by Astralasia |
Written
with Spiraloid Paul Byrne at his Stone Cottage studios in Horsham. The
idea was to take a rockabilly guitar line and set it to a dance beat,
a plan that worked later for Fatboy Slim. Renegade Soundwave, a band we
regarded as heroes, guest reviewed it for the NME and called it one of
the worst records they had ever heard. The tune rocked dancefloors wherever
we played it.

|
Each
track on the second LP is in a different generic style. 'African Sun',
a happy tune derived from Kanda Bongo Man samples, became a Whirl-Y-Gig
favourite. 'Zen Master' is a DJ Food track with the addition of a vocal
by singer Mary Joy. 'It Just Takes Time' was a hard remix for the 'Mushroom'
EP.

We
made it onto the Matsuri label with 'Elevator'. It sounds very lo-fi by
comparison to the zingy production of the rest of this CD, but it's the
opening track - all 16 minutes of it.

Galaxy
Tribe
CD released 1997 Drum'n'Bass compliation intended for the US market including the UVX track 'Background in Blue'. |
We
recorded an original drum'n'bass tune for this compliation which also
features Children Of Dub and Spiralhead. 'Background in Blue' is a long
blues guitar solo over fractured beats and Kraftwerk samples. The guitar
was recorded after several takes by which time it had gone a teensy weensy
bit out of tune...
